What’s the Worry?

There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.

Worrying is the easiest thing to do in this world. But why worry and stress when things are so far beyond our control. Life is about being proactive, and being proactive is hard; in fact, living your life day by day going through the motions is something you just become accustomed to. Going through the motions isn’t an interesting life to live. There are days when I look back and don’t remember a single thing that happened, and I don’t want to waste away my life not remembering a single thing about high school. That’s not the way I want to live my life, that’s not the way that anyone should want to live their life. A life in contentment and no risk isn’t always a life where you wake up everyday and are just happy to live. Living is a great thing when you take advantage of the life you’ve been given.

Worrying about the future and where your life is going to take you doesn’t change the course that your life is going to take. There is nothing you can do about it. When you constantly worry, all you do is waste the present time. The present, the HERE AND NOW is the ONLY time that your body will ever exist in, so why waste it? When you focus on the here and the now there are endless possibilities you can present yourself with. It’s my senior year and I hope I speak for a majority of the high school seniors out there. But I worry about college constantly, I worry about filling out my application, ACT scores, scholarships, and rushing. While all of that is important in our lives right now, all you can work on is yourself in the here and now moment. Strive to make yourself the person you’ve always wanted to be today. Waiting and worrying gets nothing done in your present life.

Happiness is a feeling that some of us often don’t feel anymore. Be grateful you’re living here. Love the people around you. Strive to make better relationships with your peers and families. Give yourself something to look forward to everyday. Stop worrying about the past or the present. Focusing on your PRESENT self helps you move on from the PAST and look forward to the FUTURE that is planned out for you.
